Hello Music Lovers-
Growing up, I was always fascinated by the comedic variations on the name of the 7th planet from the sun.
But it was that memorable lunch with friends at the Lenox Hotel in Boston in the mid 80’s, where the seed of one of my most beloved songs was planted.
At the next table were 4 older men all dressed as women in their finery enjoying a quiet lunch together when we overheard one say, “I’m not queer, I’m just experimenting an idea”.
We all knew we had just heard something special that day, and armed with that phrase, along with a favorite planetary play on words, it gave birth to an out of this world song. Tune into Song Snatch #172 and listen to the tune I recorded with The Alan Pinchloaf Singers called, “You Promised The Moon (But I Preferred Uranus)”!
(episode running time- 3 minutes and 57 seconds)
(You can hear more of my songs at www.redpeters.com, sing along to them at www.redpeterskaraoke.com, and download them everywhere fine music is sold.)
